This project entailed designing and building a birdhouse for a particular bird species. I chose to design a house for the northern saw-whet owl, the smallest owl in North America. This project introduced us to the woodshop and methods like the bandsaw box (the method i ended up using to make my birdhouse.)

I modeled my house after the distinct V-shape on this owl species' head.

I admit I definitely struggled with this project as this was my first woodshop project and it was hard for me to choose a bird around which to design the house. This project is begging for a redesign, and I'm excited to make another birdhouse and learn more woodworking skills!
